What are Platelet Rich Plasma?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical procedure (no scars left behind) in which your own blood is used to rejuvenate your skin, reduce the age-related skin changes and improve the health of your skin. It can be used as an alternative to dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxers or with a combination of other treatments to maximize their effects.
Platelet Rich Plasma is plasma containing a high concentration of platelets (our blood contains red and white cells and platelets). Platelets are not only clotting agents but they are also packed with growth factors that stimulate the skin cell repair and help reverse the ageing process. Growth factors are the basis of the PRP treatment; it should be better named “Growth Factors Rich Plasma”.
PRP a non-surgical cosmetic procedure has been developed 1970’s to enhance wound healing, tissue repair, and skin rejuvenation.
These growth factor packed platelets help:

How does Platelet Rich Plasma work?
Direct injection of your own natural body tissue that is packed with growth factors released by your platelets initiates the tissue regeneration and repair process by stimulating:
• New collagen production
• Stem cell division and differentiation
• Formation of new blood vessels (Angiogenesis)
What does the treatment involve?
Preparing the PRP is a quick process:
• Blood is collected from you in 1-2 specially designed tubes, which are then centrifuged for 5 minutes.
• During centrifugation, a patented RegenLab gel within the tubes isolates PRP from other unwanted cells within the blood (red and white cells).
• The PRP is then ready for injecting small, superficial injections into the skin around 30 minutes after the application of the local anaesthetic cream.
Depending on the indication, it can be applied as:
• Multiple small injections into the anaesthetised skin, or
• Topically sprinkled onto the skin in combination with other treatments such as micro-needling.
There is little or no downtime. Bruising is not uncommon and can be masked with makeup. Following the treatment, gradual improvement in the ensuing weeks in skin tone and texture, plumper skin with fewer lines and wrinkles.
NOTE: PRP uses your own blood, which eliminates the risk of immunological reactions or contamination with transmissible diseases.
